Office 2010 Support in ESILAW 2010.2.1

Microsoft Office 2010, now available for purchase, is supported by ESILAW 2010.2.1 with features such as export to Excel and Create Documents. If you're considering upgrading to Office 2010 make sure you have installed the 2010.2.1 update or a later release, otherwise you may experience technical issues due to changes in Office functionality. Please note that we cannot provide support for Office 2010 on versions of ESILAW prior to 2010.2.1.

 

New Features in ESILAW

If you haven't upgraded in a while you might find that some of the recently added features will help improve efficiency in your firm. We've outlined a few of the features from past releases below.

  • Export reports to Microsoft Excel
  • Custom fields
  • Integrated backup that creates a unique backup for each day
  • Automatic receipt numbering - globally or by bank
  • Color coded checks
  • Enhanced drilldown throughout the majority of reports
  • More reporting by major client or client group
  • Outlook export for clients, contacts and calendar
  • Payment allocation report
  • Document assembly - merge data into Word documents
  • Other general enhancements and fixes

In the upcoming 2010.3 release, which should be available in the next few months, we will be including a new bill template editor and significant enhancements to billing to allow bill adjustments, anticipated disbursements, soft costs, discounts, improved Word compatibility, and much more.

Tips When Running Virus or Security Software in Your Firm

Firms that encounter out of the ordinary technical issues with ESILAW are more often than not victims of their virus or security software applications. To help address this, we've listed a few things you can do to ensure ESILAW runs smoothly in your firm.

  • Exclude ESILAW from any real-time scanning. Real-time scanning can corrupt data files and interfere with general day-to-day operation.
  • Ensure ESILAW is set up as a trusted application in your security software.
  • Run scheduled virus scans after hours.
